Screen Shot 2017-03-18 at 7.26.26 PMIn honor of this weeklong celebration across the state, The Rhode Island Shellfisherman’s  Association will be visiting the State House on March 21st from 3:30-6:00 to provide information about the cultural and economic value of local shellfisheries.

Newly elected legislators will be given the book “Rhode Island’s Shellfish Heritage: An Ecological History” by its author  (and RI Shellfisherman’s Association member) Sarah Schumann.  This book was published in 2015 by RI Sea Grant, The Coastal Institute, and The Coastal Resources Center.
